Dr Houman Larijani

Dr. Houman Larijani is a highly experienced and skilled practitioner with extensive experience and education in oral surgery, implantology, and complex dentistry. His surgeries range in complexity from the placement of single implant to whole-mouth rehabilitation. Houman is well versed in a wide range of surgical techniques and has performed over 1000 implant surgeries.

Having received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2006 with First Class Honours, Dr Larijani was immediately drawn to the world of complex oral surgery. He gained valuable knowledge and experience as an oral surgery resident. He also completed his Master of Public Health at Curtin University, Perth Australia, and Master of Science in Oral implantology at Goethe University in Frankfort, Germany.

Exemplifying the significance of evidence-based practice, Dr. Larijani is actively involved in academic research. He has published papers in the International Journal of Dentistry. He also has an active role in the mentorship of general dentists.

Dr Larijani is working not only in his own practice but also in several private practices across Melbourne as a visiting implant and dentoalveolar surgeon. Furthermore, he is a VMO and has a hospital appointment weekly for performing complex dent-alveolar and implant surgery, bone, and soft tissue reconstructions as well as complex prosthodontics rehabilitation with an emphasis on aesthetic management.

He is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), International Team of Implantology (ITI), Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS), and Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeon (RACDS).
